Mitsui & Co. Wood Resources Oceania Pty Ltd (MWO) has been a key player in the Australian forestry supply chain since 1995, specialising in plantation management, harvest and haulage management, woodchip processing, marketing and woodchip export.

MWO is headquartered in Melbourne with operations in Portland, Vic and Bunbury, WA.

We are part of Mitsui

MWO is a 100%-owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. with close ties to its sister company Mitsui Bussan Woodchip South America SpA.

MWO holds a unique position in the global market building on its long history and associated networks through Mitsui & Co., Ltd. MWO has developed strong relationships with local growers through it’s transparent and integral business practices.

MWO established in 1995 has dedicated to stable wood supply to Japanese and Chinese customers by diversifying its business portfolio, such as carbon credits and domestic business.

Establish of Mitsui Plantation Development (Australia) Pty Ltd focusing on Eucalyptus globulus plantation.
1995
Establish of South West Fibre Pty Ltd woodchip processing facility in Green Triangle region.
2007
Change name to Mitsui Bussan Woodchip Oceania Pty Ltd.
2008
Acquisition of Bunbury Fibre Exports Pty Ltd processing facility in Bunbury.
2011
Expansion on Radiata pine plantation and carbon project in WA and VIC, granted AFSL.
2021
Received first ACCU.
2023
First ACCU sale.
2024
Name change to Mitsui & Co. Wood Resources Oceania Pty. Ltd.
